The RAID® course is an excitingly positive approach to parenting. It is based on the UK’s leading positive approach for working with disturbed behaviour which over 20,000 professionals have attended so applies across the board, no matter whether we are helping the parenting of disturbed young people or not, it is designed to nurture and develop young people to their best.
It is primarily designed for mental health professionals, so you can teach parents a clear, consistent and positive approach or, if you are a professional caregiver, to provide it directly .
It is the only such training that is APT-accredited and also gives you access to APT’s relevant downloadable resources for use post-course. The course is available for teams and individuals and can be attended face-to-face or online - or you or your colleagues can be trained to roll out the course in your organisation under license. It can also be completed as part of The APT Diploma for working in Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
This 3-day RAID® course teaches a comprehensive system which teaches professionals a philosophy and practice not only to deal with disturbed and challenging behaviour when it occurs, but also to prevent it by nurturing positive behaviour targeted to displace the disturbed and challenging behaviour. Staff feel pleased to share a unified system and to know what they are doing and why they are doing it, while clients delight in a relentlessly positive and empowering approach.
This course is suitable for individuals and teams working with young people: it is important to have everyone 'singing from the same song-sheet' when providing care for young people, and that is what The RAID-P Course does.
Attendees come from a variety of work settings, but principally are:
You will be registered as having attended the course, thereby gaining APT's Level 1 accreditation, and receive a certificate to this effect. Your registration lasts indefinitely, and your accreditation lasts for 3 years and is renewable by sitting an online refresher which also upgrades your accreditation to APT Level 2 if you are successful in the associated online exam.
