The RAID® Course
A relentlessly positive approach to working with extreme behaviour.
RAIDing (Reinforce Appropriate, Implode Disruptive) gives a relentlessly positive philosophy
for
working with extreme behaviour. Already attended by 10,000 UK professionals, RAIDing
is especially
relevant to working in secure and semi-secure environments. RAIDing provides
a positive approach
to be proud of, developing appropriate ‘green’ behaviour so that it simply overwhelms the problem
behaviours in question. Importantly though, RAIDing also tells you
what to do when problem
behaviour happens.

The ADDRESS™ Course
for Working with Personality Disorder
A powerful integrated package for working effectively with Personality Disorder.
This course combines relevant aspects of Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
and Motivational Interviewing to form a powerful and systematic intervention for personality disorder. It highlights the problem behaviours associated with personality disorder, how to conceptualise those behaviours in specific cases, how to facilitate insight and motivation
in the patient, and how to generate change strategies. Importantly it also gives participants
a chance to practise applying them to prepared scenarios.

DBT Essentials
Instruction in the key components of DBT for those who want to add them to
their repertoire without necessarily becoming 'a DBT therapist'.
DBT brought together a series of skills and techniques which are powerful and well chosen
ones, for working with personality disorder as well as in other areas. Many people want to familiarise themselves with these skills without necessarily becoming a DBT therapist, and
this course is for you if you are one of those people. It covers the key areas of: validation; core mindfulness skills; skills of regulating one's emotions; distress-tolerance skills and more.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
"Once in a while there is a unique contribution to psychotherapy."
ACT adopts a new strategy that moves away from the 'rational strategies of behaviour and thought change' that many people have tried and failed with. Focusing mainly on how people understand and perpetuate their difficulties through language, ACT concentrates on exciting interventions based on metaphor and paradox, with experiential exercises to show how to
break free of language traps, overcome common behavioural problems and enhance life satisfaction.

Schema Focused CBT
To identify people's key schemas is as close as we get to finding 'what makes
a person tick'.
A schema is a package of behaviour, biology, emotion and cognitions, which all fire off when triggered by the right stimulus. So if someone has a strong schema of 'mistrust', this will easily
be triggered in situations which may not warrant mistrust. This will have unfortunate results
for their relationships and more; a person's mistrusting behaviour is not good to receive. The course is about (a) how to identify the schemas that people have, and (b) how to intervene to modify those schemas to the benefit of everyone.
